Do you believe in destiny?

This is in Response to the Questions and Reflections for July 16, 2007:

  Yes, I believe in destiny.  I have good reason to believe that throughout my life I have been in exactly the right place at the right time for a particular reason.  Although I may not have realized it at the time ( hindsight is always 20-20), I know now why things turned out the way they did.

Where did you grow up?

   I grew up on a farm in Pennsylvania Dutch country where we were the only Italians.  I learned early in life about discrimination being called wop and dago by first graders.  Now how would they have learned those words except from their parents.  I can still remember my first grade teacher Ms. Wentz trying to comfort me and sewing up the front of my dress which had been ripped by one of the boys calling me those names.

My family moved back to Baltimore where I entered second grade and that is where I remained until I left home at the age of aseventeen.
